I decided I was an artist around seven, scribbling on my water doodle mat. Half of the notes I took in class were adorned with sketches along the margins, and every time I went out to eat with my family I covered the paper kids menu in crayon abstractions. I walked around the Denver Art Museum hoping they’d hang something I made on one of the large slanted walls they don’t hang art on. I doodled all over my algebra and practiced shading on my debate packets. I’ve always wanted to work in a creative field.
My dream job is to be a freelance artist. I want to take commissions and make art that I’m passionate about. My career goals are to establish a recognizable and reliable brand as well as to make a sustainable living by selling my art. I would like to save up to get a small studio space I can work and sell out of after I can get an assured income. I work in traditional and digital mediums and can do a wide variety of different work such as portraits in oil paint or animated gifs.
